Cosmic Balance Game BoardInnovation is what we look for in the market, and it is very hard to find. But once in a while, we find some people that put all the trouble aside and launch something that is not only innovative but well looking and fun. That is exactly what the Cosmic Balance Kickstarter brings to the table.

In this board game, you are a god controlling the fate of the humans through angels and demons. Your cards are used to control the territories, and if it’s defeated you decide whether send it to Heaven or Hell. The discard piles sit at both ends of a scale, and when it tips to one side or another, it opens the gates of Heaven or Hell. Each territory you have at the end of your turn gives you victory points and the player with the highest score wins the game. Cosmic Balance is a board game for 2 to 5 players and you can play it in around 1 hour.

Cosmic Balance ComponentsThe game board is all illustrated and stunning, although I’d like to see a more detailed illustration of the Heaven and Hell area. There is also a gothic scale that is used to measure the number of discarded cards. I’ve never seen a game using a scale like that, and it looks kind of cool. All comes together with the victory points, good and evil counters, battle and influence points, and, of course, the cards. All cards have a similar look to Magic: The Gathering, with an illustration, its name, cost, power, ability, and lore. This similarity with Magic is not just a coincidence as the game is designed by Magic’s lead designer and brand manager Alexandra and Brain Tinsman.

There are several stretches and social goals (mostly already unlocked) along with some exclusive add-ons for the Kickstarter backers.

Cosmic Balance – Kickstarter Details

Cosmic Balance CardsWith only nine more days to go, if you liked what you saw so far, run to the Kickstarter page and also back the project. With $49 you will guarantee a copy of the game and all stretch goals, not to mention that you’ll be helping fund the game.

Right now the Kickstarter has around $20,000.00 of the $30,000.00 necessary to fund the project. As I believe it is a great game, I will say that everyone should back it. 😉

The Kickstarter will finish on 31st of July 2016 and will start deliveries in March 2017.

  1. What’s the point of continuing play after all vp are gone, since no more vp can be earned?

When all VP (Victory Points) are gone, the game finishes, so you don’t play after that.
